Le Cercle des Noyés plot

Documentary about the incarceration in the mid-1980s of some Maritan political prisoners in an abandoned, former colonial fortress of Oualata. The title of this film refers to what the prisoners were called. They were described as dangerous to the state by the political authorities, arrested, deported and treated as such. In a serene, almost poetic way, one of the few survivors, Bâ Fara, reminisces about this painful experience that nearly cost him the life of a few friends.
