João Bénard da Costa plot

João Bénard da Costa (1935-2009) was director of the Portuguese Film Museum in Lisbon for eighteen years. He was also a writer, poet, critic and actor, including in a number of films by his compatriot Manoel de Oliviera. The poetic biographical documentary that Manuel Mozos made about him shows that he was involved with art from an early age and was already touched as a child by the mysterious and erotic power of painting. The (autobiographical) reflections read by his son come from his writings. Mozos has the texts accompanied by images from his favorite places and clips from his favorite films.
