Il Colore delle Parole plot

Four Africans who have settled in Italy become part of a campaign for immigrant rights. Justin, Martin, Steve and Teodoro are friends who first met at university in Rome. They all came from Africa and left for Italy with the intention of returning to their homeland one day when they graduate. But they made friends in Rome, found that they liked life in Italy and have built successful careers as teachers, writers, artists and activists. However, they are not Italian citizens, Italian laws have prevented them from acquiring citizenship, and their legal status has changed many times in their struggle with immigration authorities.
