Heroin(e) plot
"100 Americans Die Every Day From Overdose. Three Women Break to Fight the Cycle One Life at a Time."
The hard drug heroin is experiencing a real revival in the United States. The so-called 'Opioid Epidemic' is now ringing alarm bells at the highest level. Heroin(e) depicts how this crisis is wreaking havoc in Huntington, West Virginia, the US overdose capital. In the working-class community, where the economic crisis has wreaked havoc, ten times as many people die each year from drug overdoses as in the average American city. It seems like mopping with the tap open for the three women (a social worker, judge and Christian volunteer) who are followed in this documentary. Each and every one of them, in an environment in which health crises and incidents are the order of the day, continue to search for the person in the addict.
