Habaneros plot

A bird's-eye view of the history of the Cuban capital Havana, supported by a soundtrack of son, salsa, jazz, rumba, mambo and hip-hop. Using archive footage, animations, fragments from feature films and interviews with residents, eyewitnesses and experts, all key moments in recent history are reviewed: from the abolition of slavery at the end of the nineteenth century to the Spanish-American war, and from the dictatorial rule of General Batista to the revolution of Fidel Castro.
