Concrete Turned to Sand plot

A collective of oyster farmers on Cortes Island, British Columbia, is mapping the changing tidal zone, which is suffering from the effects of warming oceans. The rich ecosystem serves as a breeding ground for oysters, whose stony shells are formed by tidal currents. These 'living fossils' take years to mature; meanwhile, their environment is changing faster than they can adapt.
