Black Outside plot
“That’s for white people.” It’s a phrase that infuriated Gary Wilkerson Jr. as a young black boy who was asked to do things outside, like camping. He wasn’t old enough to understand that it was a warning, handed down from generations of black Americans who were forbidden to explore the outdoors for fear of being killed. To confront this inherited fear, Gary decides to conquer the Pacific Crest Trail, a grueling, six-month trek from Mexico to Canada. With the guidance and support of his ride-or-die, Mary, Gary sets out on the adventure of a lifetime.
