1939 plot

In 1939, Finland was preparing for the 1940 Helsinki Olympics, which were canceled for well-known historical reasons. The country also prepared for a war, which did go on. 1939 was a year of anticipation for the Finns, but of what exactly? A violent confrontation with the Soviet Union was in the air as much as fame and glory on the running track. When the Winter War broke out on November 30, the precarious wait came to an end.
