Time Table plot

When a train races through Arizona at night, the so-called doctor Paul Brucker fires on the baggage car staff and robs $500,000 in cash. Brucker leaves the train with his fake patient and his fake wife, who is actually Paul's wife Linda. The insurance company puts their best man Charlie Norman on the robbery and he has to team up with Joe Armstrong, the railroad investigator. Both men are friends and Joe is annoyed that Charlie has to postpone a planned vacation with his wife Ruth to Mexico. Charlie isn't worried about that canceled vacation because he planned the heist and fell in love with Bruckner's wife Linda over another insurance issue. Charlie initially frustrates Joe's investigation.
