Talking to the Dead plot

Novice Inspector Fiona Griffiths has a brilliant mind and a secret history of a mental illness called Cotard's syndrome. Because of this illness, she has a deep and peculiar empathy for death. This makes for a very driven, but sometimes capricious young policewoman. It also makes for a volatile emotional life and she will have to face her past with secrets. Fiona often feels compelled to go it all alone, along with her mysterious friend Lev, who offers his own distinctive advice; her solid but concerned mother; and an estranged father who has his own dark past.
