The comparison with the Coens didn't really bother me that much: I simply sympathized with Van der Meer's character from the start because I realized that this would go from bad to worse. Nice supporting role by the timid Van 't Hof, but like so many here I especially want to praise Ton Kas : his name meant nothing to me beforehand, afterwards I discovered that he is a comedian and comedian, but while watching the film I just sat to be amazed how an actor unknown to me could so effectively put down a loose cannon - yes, some of his dialogues and his reasoning in general are certainly funny ("Well don't be the pretty boy!" - quoted here a hundred times but it still remains great ), but I also found his appearance of total indifference to anyone or anything slightly terrifying. Fortunately, there is still Kees Hulst who tries to run his shop... A nice and well acted surprise.

A windfall, this crime comedy with quite a bit of blood and corpses, but the dry humor washes it all away so that it becomes more comedy than crime.

Ruben van der Meer plays excellently in the role of the detective-looser, next to René van 't Hof as his willing friend, but the most striking interpretation is for Ton Kas as the surprising "employee" ...

Some satire on the police apparatus and that helps with the funny situations and dialogues in the film.

I actually had high hopes for this movie. A film with a lot of my favorite Dutch actors. A comedy too. Yet. He barely gets off the ground. A film about a cop with gambling debts who invents a way to get rid of his debts. It's not really that funny either. There are some nice scenes though. But those are fun scenes that I especially like because they are played by my favorite actors. So I'm not completely neutral. Actually, especially the story and the dialogues are very thin. And I give the film three stars mainly because there are so many nice actors in it and because the film also runs quite well. He doesn't bore me. But if it had been a film in which these nice actors hadn't played, I probably would have given it an insufficient. Too unbelievable and not fun enough I would say.
