Mediocre crime film. The story is far from original and the social media sauce creates some laughably stupid moments. In other words, your mind is at zero because the writer also assumes that. The effect can then continue. The film is not boring, but it is not exciting and very predictable. The acting is mediocre. Thorne once again proves that he cannot handle a fairly serious leading role. Visually the film looks quite nice. Stupid work that is just not boring. 2.0

Complex.

Not that the film itself is difficult to understand, by the way. It's just a more modern version of the Bonnie & Clyde thing. It is mainly director Caldwell who makes things too difficult for himself. He tries to make a kind of nuanced film in which he wants to highlight all sides in a way that we as viewers can understand. That doesn't work at all.

Thorne single-handedly puts a stop to that. It seems like an easy leading role, but the film is important and that is too ambitious for Thorne. I therefore wholeheartedly share the criticism of filmkul. She is not a suitable actress to carry these types of adult projects. Now Caldwell doesn't exactly make it easy for her either. All that stuff with social media comes across as stupid and antisocial, which means that leaning on sympathy and some understanding for the main characters does not work at all. When they started to doubt themselves, I didn't think "Oh well, I totally get you", but rather "Gosh, are you just finding that out now?" As far as I'm concerned, they could have immediately repacked that associated social criticism.

Fortunately, there is still a catchy atmosphere to be found. Decent colors, a fairly smooth story and playful editing. It's just a shame that I found the content of the film so annoying. By the end, it hardly feels like the anti-heroes have learned anything from their stupid choices. It was certainly not an unpleasant viewing experience, but the constant antisocial behavior of the main characters makes it difficult to feel anything for them. It's really unbelievable that they weren't shot at once by the police. You would think that such a journey with almost 4 million followers on Instagram would end early, but that is too difficult for American police within Infamous.

The whole movie was quite unbelievable, but that ending really takes the cake. The music was chill.
