Ernest Krause (Tom Hanks) is a German-born American lieutenant. He leads an international convoy of thirty-seven warships. In the early days of World War II, he tries to lead his destroyer 'Greyhound' to Europe, while they are being hunted by German U-boats. During the adventure, Krause will have to overcome his inner doubts and personal problems to guide himself and his crew through the battle.

Greyhound is a pretty meaningless film, because in fact it is a bit of war at sea and that's where it ends. We don't get much information or background. Fortunately there is still Tom Hanks who manages to save one and the other. It is a kind of film in which the actions of one man are central. A hero without scruples. Greyhound is not very startling based on the story, but if there is one point worth mentioning, it is the soundtrack. I thought that was pretty cool and gives the film the tension it needs. Lots of pace and a short playing time, then it doesn't matter that there is little story.
So it's a fun movie, but I'm missing something that makes it really good. The situation is also sometimes quite unclear (maybe part of it) and that doesn't make it any easier to follow the film.

Strong war movie. The story is simple and concise. But the effect is very good. Schneider manages to turn it into a very exciting film with a subcutaneous tension that increases during the film, to a nail-biting climax. He is helped by a good cast. Hanks certainly plays a strong role. The film also looks good visually with excellent special effects. topper. 4.0

Great video.
No plot, no character development, barely a suspense. Only submarines and warships firing at each other. Visually pretty decent, though it's a shame about the excessive use of CGI. The soundtrack is irritating at times, but generally effective. And Tom Hanks carries the film with gusto.
Nice and short too, you don't often see these kinds of films anymore. 3.5*
