I liked the opening scene (the awakening of Bonnie) and the famous ending scene. Both - not entirely coincidentally - because of the assembly work. Furthermore, it is an annoying sequence of similar scenes in which the lousy acting predominates. Gene Wilder, in particular, was terrible (and redundant). I'm still curious about Penn's Dead of Winter (1987) (released on BR by 88 Films, so it's ready) and possibly someday [ url=https://www.moviemeter.nl/film/5626]Night Moves (1975) ... but that chance is small.

Nice film that can ultimately be seen as a precursor of the later crime film.

The playful tone throughout the terror makes the audience instinctively rally behind the crime couple. Find out for yourself in which toppers this phenomenon will appear...

Truly excellent acting and skilled directing by Arthur Penn.

Disappointing review.

If Bonnie and Clyde had never met, perhaps a long and normal civilian life awaited them. Their couple was an explosive cocktail of love and danger... the film adaptation starts out as a romantic undertaking of unbridled freedom, but gradually turns into grimness as they get tighter and tighter in the grip of the law enforcement agencies. However, the film stops several times with dialogues between them for which I had little interest and where I started to get bored. I found B&C to have a tempo problem at times. Clyde's brother (Hackman) and especially Clyde's screaming sister-in-law didn't make the film any better. What an insufferable figure and unrealistic rendering.

It's still a classic that deserves a look, but the test of time is seriously starting to gnaw.
