Curley is a young man who happens to meet the famous Mordecai Jones. Jones, better known as "The Flim-Flam Man", is a professional con man. He travels through the country and knows thousands of tricks to steal money or possessions from people. He asks Curley to assist him in his work. For the young man, this is the beginning of a great adventure.
