Curt Taylor is in his last days in prison. His patron Phil reminds him that in the meantime he has accumulated a debt of $ 35,000 for 'services rendered'. He has exactly two weeks to find the money. Meanwhile, successful, wealthy, but unhappy TV star Cartier Rand returns to her Hollywood mansion only to find that her secretary has been arrested by the police. Her manager must immediately arrange for the right replacement. Coincidentally, the job seeker Curt is in the agency.
