The film is compared to Intouchables and Hors Normes and indeed follows the somewhat clichéd concept in that kind of film in which prejudices are overcome so that friendship can develop between strangers, which in particular champions disabled people who turn out to be completely human and must therefore be treated as fully-fledged human beings. treated and that is at the same time humorous to go along with the handicapped instead of laughing at it, which also doesn't make it too heavy.

But I actually liked this film even better than the two French films mentioned earlier, perhaps because the theme is somewhat more universal, as the disabled man in this film constantly quotes life lessons from philosophers. In fact, on the one hand, the film is about a man who knows how to live (he learned that from the philosophers) but because of his disability has not been able to develop himself in which a chance and happy accident causes him to lose his ' n can exchange paper friends (the philosophers) for a real friend and put into practice the life lessons learned. That real friend is an undertaker who is in fact already half dead himself, but through the disabled man who rather imposes himself on him (again) learns how to live, that is, to enjoy friendship and life by free from the formal, overly responsible life as the handicapped man manages to free himself from the limitation of his disability.

The film is a bit over the top and in that sense a bit clichéd, but it is nevertheless a fine film with a great life lesson.

Funeral director Louis [Bernard Campan] leads Igor [Alexandre Jollien] and takes him to the hospital. Igor has a physical disability as a result of a cerebral hemorrhage at birth and that should be enough reason for the viewer to take the tiled wisdom and constant references to philosophers for granted. I'd love to punch him in the face sometime! It should be clear what I think is the only good moment in this sentimental, formulaic nonsense.
