Entertaining film that generally follows the standard paths but at the same time manages to remain interesting.

The drama and comedy elements alternate, often successful but sometimes less successful.

The dialogues were generally sharp and provide some very nice puns.

The ending is (of course?) predictable but not disturbing.

Fun movie for 2 hours of entertainment!

Dramatic event.

Suffers from the same shortcoming that kills so many American comedies. The beginning is always smooth and light-hearted, but halfway through it gets bogged down in drama, sucking all the life out of such a film. This Parenthood even starts a little earlier.

And let that drama really mean nothing. Some clichés about parenthood, cardboard characters and a lot of annoying stuff that is only half-heartedly worked out. The comedy side of the film was just a bit better, but gets very little breathing room.

Last Hour has actually become a pure family drama, but with caricatural characters. Howard's direction is mediocre, no actor knows how to shape his character well and 120 minutes is at least 30 minutes too long. Ultimately a pretty boring film with some stupid morals to end.

Excellent film about three families with children who all do their best in raising them. As the title suggests, this film is about parenthood and shows this in all its facets (the nice but also the less nice things). Enough good scenes, sometimes touching but often funny (great balance between drama and comedy here). Also a nice cast.
