Off Beat plot
"The Real Life Adventures Of A Make-Believe Cop."
Joe Gower's job is to skate down the aisles of a library, collecting books. A friend of his who works for the police is chosen to participate in a dance performance of a charity evening. Gower agrees to take his place on the show by impersonating a police officer. He falls in love with a female cop on the show, and gets involved in all sorts of entanglements with other cops and thugs. And he dances.
