Jack Casey used to be a whiz kid in the stock market, but after a bad decision his kingdom was over and he found himself forced to take a completely different tack. He becomes a bicycle courier in New York City and risks his life every day to deliver packages through the busy city traffic. The question is whether he can build a new life on a more solid basis in this way. Soon he is looking for new thrills in racing taxis and buses and falls in love with his colleague Teri. When it turns out that the bike couriers are being abused by drug dealers, he will need his speed and intelligence more than ever...
