Exciting courtroom thriller with great roles by Cher and Liam Neeson and a very surprising twist at the end. One of the better films in this genre.

Nice movie in which a lawyer has to defend a deaf-mute homeless person during a murder trial. A fairly standard (court) thriller with an entertaining, but sometimes far-fetched plot. A bit on the slow side, and especially towards the end sometimes exciting. The cast does a great job. Easily 3.0 stars.

Dry.

This courtroom film is often boring rather than interesting, with uninspired acting by Cher and Quaid (I've seen them both play much better) but Neeson and Mantegna are also hardly worth mentioning. After an hour and a half I had the impression that the film had not progressed at all and that is never a nice feeling. I didn't find much of a thriller in it. In the end everything is also dealt with quickly and the denouement didn't even come as a surprise. Nothing to write home about.
