My Dad's Christmas Date plot
In many ways, the relationship between David and Jules Evans is no different from that of most fathers and sixteen-year-old daughters. He struggles to understand her, she refuses to communicate with him. He wants to be involved in her life, she wants her own space. However, in one important aspect, David and Jules are separated from the rest of society: the deaths of Jules' mother and David's wife in a car accident two years earlier. As they both struggle with the rigors of everyday life after this devastating loss, Jules decides to take matters into his own hands. Jules creates profiles for David on multiple online dating platforms and starts looking for a partner for her father and, for herself, someone to talk to.
