Major Barbara plot
Major Barbara Undershaft is a major in the Salvation Army and a dogged socialist, fighting against capitalists, especially her father, a munitions manufacturer. The scientist Adolphus is in love with her, but all her attention is focused on the cause she is fighting for. Then her father donates a large amount to the Salvation Army which, to her horror, is also accepted.
