Sports fanatic Jerome Jenkins Junior ("Triple-J" to his friends) doesn't exactly get respect on the sports field because he's too young, too slow and - worst of all - too small. But luck smiles upon him when one day he finds a pair of mysterious, dilapidated sneakers with the initials "MJ" scrawled on them. When he puts them on, he is suddenly capable of incredible athletic feats and becomes the best in the field. But his unexpected success threatens to steal from his family and his friends leave him one by one...
