Les Crevettes Pailletées plot
Matthias Le Goff is an Olympic champion at the end of his career. He makes a homophobic statement on TV. His punishment is that he has to coach Les Crevettes Pailletées, a flamboyant and amateur gay water polo team. They have only one goal in mind: to qualify for the Gay Games in Croatia, where the internationally most popular LGBT athletes compete.

Film that I found a bit difficult to place. Amusing to watch but sometimes cringeworthy over the top. Script and acting are also over the top, but somehow it works in this movie. Unexpected plot twist at the end.

Actually, we don't really like stereotyped gay behavior like effeminate, screaming, jumping, dancing, etc.
But in this film it is somehow brought with a nice wink.
The film looks good and flows smoothly. The players are also really trying their best.
The surroundings of Paris/France and the journey to Croatia are beautifully depicted.
Furthermore, the humor is sometimes cringeworthy, but sometimes quite fun.
Often films with homosexual subjects are heavy, difficult, annoying and negative. This film takes a more cheerful side. And that can sometimes be done.
