Every year, a high priest in a small village in Macedonia throws a cross into a lake. Hundreds of men jump after it to find the cross. The one who finds the cross is believed to gain overall happiness and prosperity. The unemployed, single woman Petrunija jumps into the water and finds the cross. The men are not happy with the fact that a woman has managed to obtain the cross and this causes mixed reactions.
