The Best of Enemies plot
"Change is worth fighting for"
Based on a true story, the film focuses on the unlikely relationship between Ann Atwater, an outspoken civil rights activist, and CP Ellis, a local Ku Klux Klan leader. Ellis reluctantly attended a community meeting during the racially charged summer of 1971 discussing the desegregation of schools in Durham, North Carolina. The incredible events that unfolded would change Durham and the lives of Atwater and Ellis forever.
