Ich und die Kaiserin plot

The Empress' hairdresser loses the garter she secretly borrowed from her employer along the way. The garter is found by the Marquis of Pontignac, who falls from his horse and is wounded and taken to a barracks. There he is told that he does not have long to live. The hairdresser enters the barracks to regain possession of the garter. The Marquis, unable to see her due to his injuries, is entranced by a song the hairdresser sings to him. He recovers against the odds, diligently searches for the singer - and comes to the conclusion that it must be the Empress. So there's work to be done for the hairdresser.
