Anne of Green Gables plot
Elderly bachelor Matthew Cuthbert lives with his unmarried sister Marilla. Together they have decided to adopt a child, preferably a tough boy who can lend Matthew a hand on the farm. However, the orphanage makes a mistake and sends young Anne to the Cuthberts. She is a romantic, mischievous and feisty young thing, but an incorrigible chatterbox. With her disarming honesty, however, Anne quickly wins the hearts of Matthew and Marilla, even though the same trait causes her quite a few problems in the community.
