Hinter den Sieben Gleisen plot
The three bums Barbarossa (Max Haufler), Clown (Ruedi Walter) and Dürst (Zarli Carigiet) live in an old hut between the train tracks of the main station in Zurich. When they come home one evening, they find young German Inge (Ursula Heyer), who is about to give birth. With the help of a friend, they give birth to Inge's baby. Since Inge refuses all other help, it is up to the three bums to take care of her and her baby. Meanwhile, the search for the baby's father is underway. This turns out to be Paul Eberhardt (Helmut Förnbacher), the son of the director of a paper factory where Inge worked as a maid. However, he is engaged to another woman.
