Nice movie to watch once. It's easy to watch and the story kept me interested. Winona Ryder has been one of my favorite actresses for a long time, so I watched the movie because of her. I like the acting and I like the eighties atmosphere. Not particularly good, but entertaining. 3*

How nice to say! Didn't dare blind buy with the Arrow release; I rarely really like 80's high school comedies. Despite the charm, it always remains a bit of a far-from-your-bed show, that made American. Heathers takes it so far that it actually applies to everyone, it's a crazy alternative universe where cynicism is rampant. Furthermore, really a cartload of memorable quotes; everyone has a different favorite. I don't patronize bunny rabbits. In a melancholy way, he tackles very heavy/important topics such as suicide among teenagers. Only one I couldn't really taste was Christian Slater with his weird eyebrows. Ryder is perfect.

Amusing.

Nice video. If Heathers were made today, it would be canceled within a week. The humor used here is unfortunately no longer allowed. Heathers therefore comes a bit from the time when directors were still allowed to use his creative freedom.

And that makes it even more fun because the film has some daring parts. Especially that stuff around the subject of "suicide" pushes the limits here and there, but I can laugh about it. In the end it is also clear that the film does not encourage it, but is also not afraid to show humor around the subject.

Also some other fun jokes. Not everything is always effective, but often it is very witty. Not hilarious, just fun and fresh. The fresh tone that hangs through the film also does it for him, because that way the 103 minutes tick away nicely.

The middle part drags a little bit and eventually the film starts to lose its momentum. The violence is also a bit well-behaved, although this is not really a central point for the film. Eventually the film also becomes moralistic and it gets a bit boring there, but necessary of course otherwise it would undergo a major controversy.

The last half hour is a lot of fun. I didn't think Ryder was very strong. She keeps her charm at all times, but the dialogues and emotions don't come out quite right. Slater was again very good and steals the show. Other roles are also reasonable, such as Doherty and Walker.

Visually fresh too. Sometimes a bit weak editing, but great settings and a nice atmosphere. However, it remains the humor that does it. Nice and cheeky here and there, although it is nowhere bizarrely transgressive. It may push the limits, but in the end it's just wrong in its own way. I like it, good fun with nice characters.
