Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo is just entertainment full of empty humor. Rob Schneider is the perfect match for this role. Not too much text but mainly show. Great entertainment with all kinds of fun characters. Still fun even after a second viewing.

Thought it was mostly funny and never exaggerated like the Leslie Nielsen movies.

Nice.

I've seen a horde of comedies lately that surprisingly managed to entertain me quite well. I didn't think so quickly because I'm just not someone who always likes comedies. The humor in these comedies is only rude and stupid enough to keep me glued to the tube for an afternoon.

This time it comes down to Schneider again. It is certainly not his very first type, although nowadays (probably because of his controversial views) he has faded into the background. That does mean that roles like Deuce Bigalow will be the highlights of his career. It is then subjective to each person including himself to determine whether this was his ultimate role or not.

As far as I'm concerned, it is Schneider's most sincere role, where he also shows his more human sides. That's hard to say with a movie like this, of course, but the moral that is eventually mixed into the story still manages to have some effect. It doesn't fit very well, but it's understandable. It is mainly that the film does not like the switch it makes from complete rudeness to a more subtle spectacle.

If you can get around that, you'll be fine with this film. Lots of pace, quite a bit of entertainment and above all a whole bunch of supporting characters who manage to provide the necessary entertainment single-handedly. It's not brilliant at all and you can fully outline the course, but that doesn't take away from the fact that it does what it's supposed to do in terms of entertainment.
