Budapest plot

Vincent and Arnaud may have had the best French studies in business administration, but they are bored to death during their work. Vincent works hard for a multinational corporation without being recognized, while Arnaud struggles in his father-in-law's company. On the occasion of the bachelor party of one of their friends, they meet a stripper who tells them about Budapest. Vincent gets the idea to start a company that organizes bachelor parties in the Hungarian capital. Like Arnaud, he quits his job and launches into their new business. They enlist the help of Georgio who helps them discover the hidden treasures of the city.

Very cheap, underpants humor. Grown men acting very childishly. No real laughs whatsoever.

Visually attractive comedy film that director Xavier Gens provides with a lot of bombast and pace. Fortunately, this works to the advantage in the case of Budapest, because this film has few dull or dead moments. The leading roles also do a good job and the concept is explained thoroughly, but the screenwriters at times go way overboard with rather over-the-top humor. Jonathan Cohen is also particularly unsympathetic and does not exactly invite any understanding, which makes it strange that the film revolves a significant part of its content around his character. A lack of atmosphere (the Hungarian capital is shown very little) provides further minus points, but a pass is still possible. Secretly, this is clearly not Gens' genre.
