"If life is bad, better feel good"
Three factory workers lose their jobs and decide to join forces. They start an ostrich farm in the hope that ostrich steak will one day find its place in the Italian evening meal. Elsewhere, restaurant owner Mario is depressed and suicidal after both his businesses go bankrupt and after his wife leaves him. Renato, the leader of the ostrich farm, finds out that his sister has a relationship with a magistrate, also named Mario, who could grant them a subsidy. To placate Mario, Renato throws a lavish party. At the station, however, he picks up the pill-stunned Mario the ex-restaurant owner instead of Mario the politician.
