There was a time when I didn't like Woody Allen movies. I thought it was mostly a lot of talk about relationships and I haven't seen Woody Allen movies for many years. In the last few months, however, I've seen a few more and have come to admire the filmmaker Woody Allen. He has a very recognizable style and, despite the much talk about relationships, his films are often surprisingly original and fascinating. In the meantime, the talk about relationships has also become very recognizable to me, and I can empathize with it much better. And since the man has made many many other films, I've resolved that I want to see as many of them as possible. And this is the first of that big group of movies that I'm going to watch. And I just hope that this was indeed a lesser film of his, because when I saw this film I almost got the feeling that I am back to square one. This is indeed a movie with a lot of talk about relationships and unfortunately nothing else. I just hope there aren't too many of these disappointments when seeing the rest of the films.

My first Allen. I must admit that I have never had any interest in the man's work.

Releasing a film almost every year since '82 is quite impressive, but that doesn't mean it's good right away.

I get the idea behind this movie, but the execution isn't great. Biggs' character just gets a bit too whiny at some point and Ricci's character also tends to be annoying at times. Allen's character himself is entertaining, but that's about all.

The story goes on and on without any significant scenes or events taking place. This makes this film a bit long-winded and sometimes just plain boring in my opinion.

I can appreciate the philosophical thought behind the story, but I think the execution is mediocre.
