Akadimia Platonos plot
Stavros starts the day by turning on the metal detectors in his cigarette shop, picking up the newspaper from the letterbox, and setting out the chairs where he and his friends will spend the rest of the day. They are proud of their dog Patriot, who barks at every passing Albanian. Stavros and his friends don't like Albanians, even if they do the work most Greeks don't want to do. But Stavros came to Athens with his mother when he was one year old.
