The Door in the Floor plot

EastHampton, New York. The story highlights a summer in the life of famed children's author Ted Cole and his beautiful wife Marion. Their once great marriage is now scarred by tragedy. Marion keeps a secret and Ted has all sorts of adventures that keep them from solving the problems. Until Ted hires the younger Eddie as his personal assistant and Eddie soon acts as a means of communication between Ted and his wife.
