Maurice is a sly ginger-colored cat who is always trying to rip someone off. One day Maurice meets a boy and his army made up of talking and well-trained mice. They decide to go to the town called Bad Blintz, where they encounter the bookworm Malicia. Together they set up a small scam.

Kat Maurice [Hugh Laurie] and Keith [Himesh Patel] have set up a lucrative scam by teaming up with a group of rats. The rats cause a rat infestation that Maurice and Keith 'fight' for a fee. It's a piece of cake, until they stumble upon the sinister Boss Man [David Thewliss], who seems to be a size too big with his own 'plague of rats'. Maurice and Keith decide to team up with mayor's daughter Malicia [Emilia Clarke]. Based on a book by Terry Pratchett that is provided with unnecessary pedantic humor by Terry Rossio and Robert Chandler, for example about the conventions surrounding narrators, which obscures the underlying message about the importance of education (and the criticism of religion). An entertaining animated film, but it could have been better.

I watched this animated film and it was quite a nice movie. It looked beautiful and the story was pretty good too. The film wasn't super long and managed to keep me engaged from beginning to end. Worth seeing.
