Puppy Tale plot
Jerry rescues a bag of puppies from the river. Most of them run away as soon as Jerry lets them go, but one stays behind. Jerry tries to get rid of it, but eventually takes pity and invites the frisky pup inside, where he has to hide it from Tom, who keeps throwing it outside.

The Tom & Jerry animated short series features several with a third character. Here, it is a puppy abandoned by its owner whom Jerry takes under his wing. Much to the displeasure of Tom, who sees his peace disturbed. A variation on other short films where Jerry almost has to rescue the extra 'player' from Tom, thus unintentionally ending up in the familiar dilemma. Not a memorable short, but fun nonetheless.
