Eleven-year-old Alec is a lonely boy who usually spends his time daydreaming and fantasizing about distant lands. His father is a doctor on a large ship. He sends him all kinds of strange souvenirs from exotic places. One day, Alec gets a collection of beautiful cocoons of African butterflies.
