"It Found A Voice... Now It Needs A Body."
Everything takes place in 2029. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has created the ideal top agent, the 'Puppet Master'. It is not human, has no body and can move itself via the electronic highway, the net. When she decides to give herself a physical body, the Ministry feels threatened. So it enlists the help of Section 9, a secret organization that has to do odd jobs for the government. It is the job of Motoko Kusanagi, a cyber agent, to hunt down the "Master" with her partner. But the 'Master' sees in her the chance for an extra-electronic life and offers her eternal wisdom in exchange for her body.
