Hadashi no Gen plot

Young Gen and his family live in Hiroshima towards the end of WWII. Since Gen's father believes that the war cannot be won, he is ostracized by the rest of the local residents. They have to struggle to get by and are short of food on a daily basis. Then, in the morning of August 6, 1945, the atomic bomb falls on Hiroshima. Gen survives and must deal with life in Hiroshima after the bomb.
