"Soldier. Lantern. Hero."
John Stewart is a retired sniper who served in the Navy. He finds himself at a crossroads in his life that only gets more complicated when he receives a special ring from an alien. When John wears the ring, he gains supernatural powers and turns into Earth's Green Lantern. Unfortunately, John doesn't have long to experiment with it, as a horde of interplanetary assassins is out to eliminate every Green Lantern in the universe. With the help of Green Arrow, Adam Strange and Hawkgirl, the reluctant soldier will have to brave a galactic war and succeed where all other Green Lanters have failed.
