After being abandoned by his mother at a folk festival, nine-year-old Jason takes refuge in the hut of a deaf-mute loner named Minas, in the middle of the woods. Although the man doesn't care about him at first, a series of circumstances eventually lead them to form a family - something neither of them has had in a long time.
