Wilhelm Tell plot
This film tells the story of the fourteenth-century legendary Swiss hero Wilhelm Tell. At the time, Switzerland was occupied by Austria and Gessler, the Austrian governor in Switzerland, wants all Swiss to bow as they pass the Austrian flag. Wilhelm Tell refuses to bow to the flag of the occupiers and is instructed by Gessler to shoot an apple from his son's head with a bow and arrow. Although Tell is successful with this legendary shot, he still ends up in jail. After he can escape, Tell manages to organize the resistance and becomes the key figure to Swiss independence.
