Nice children's/youth film with a typical 80s atmosphere.

25 years ago I would certainly have liked him more.

Look at them laughing at 1978 in 1986 and not realizing that the 1980s is generally seen as the decade of bad taste. Bit unlucky that I myself was born in 1986, although I myself am quite fond of everything that comes from those years. Flight Of The Navigator is certainly not one of them. I have rarely seen such mediocre children's science fiction. Not only does the film offer no suspense, but the story is also far from special. The climax starts from the moment when the main character controls the UFO and thus becomes the navigator. That's where the hideous special effects come into play. It has effects that were definitely avant garde at the time, but nowadays you should be ashamed of it. Furthermore, the film is not funny, too little charming and simply nothing special. Yes, the film is from Disney, but no, that is not a quality mark. I wouldn't saddle my kids with this mess.

A forgotten Disney film about a 12-year-old boy who ends up 8 years in the future during a walk through the woods. The first half was quite of a high level, but as soon as the boy takes on his role as "navigator" it becomes quite childish at times. The limited target audience is 10-14 year olds I would say. No nostalgia for me because it's my first time seeing that movie, but it fits perfectly in the 80s era. And oh well, those special effects... if that bothers you then don't watch movies from that period. Sarah Jessica Parker recognizes you immediately. Young actor Joey Cramer has fallen fairly low and was convicted of a bank robbery.
