"You'll beWITCHED! You'll beDAZZLED! You'll be swept into a world of enchantment BEYOND ANYTHING BEFORE!"

Eglantine Price is not your ordinary witch. She lives in Pepperinge Eyre, whizzes around on a sulphur-powered motorcycle, eats carrots and nettles, learns her trade by correspondence with Professor Emelius Brown and dreams of destroying the Nazis, who threaten to invade England, by her magic. However, that is not as simple as the corresponding witch had thought. The professor has to close his school before the end of the course. In order to gain control of the liberating spell plus magic stone, Eglantine must overcome many difficult obstacles. And then a few more children come to stay.

Mediocre Disney film, although I have to say that the combination live/animation has rarely convinced me. In my opinion it is very difficult to reconcile the two, and only a few films succeed in doing so.

That being said, the film is just long enough to keep it enjoyable, as well as the side-steps to other Disney films (Robin Hood, Jungle Book). 2.5*

I am a fan of the older film and Disney is normally always good but this film is the exception to that rule. Didn't stand the test of time and definitely one of the lesser Disney movies. A rather silly, even for fantasy farfetched story combined with very poor special effects ensure that you never get into the movie. We may be very spoiled in this area by Harry Potter these days, but this is actually far below par. It also feels a bit uncomfortable that the second world war is reduced here at the end to a weird slapstick story in which the stupid Germans are mercilessly beaten. Bedknobs and Broomsticks is especially suitable to experience that they are sometimes wrong at Disney, insufficient in quality.

Nice Disney movie! We used to be looking for an 8mm film with a bizarre football match between animals and a human as a referee, and that turns out to be a part of this film! Even surpassed by the invasion of England. Musical bits, live/animation, witchcraft and machine guns and especially the oldest boy is quite a bit tricky child. Outdated, disappointing Disney? I find this very entertaining and even very well made. Slightly less sweet than most Disney movies, too.
