"It'll blow your mind"
Future: Frank Warren is cheated in a diamond heist by his girlfriend who shoots him. He survives and ends up in an unfenced prison, where every prisoner with a collar is 'married' to an unknown other inmate. If the partners are too far apart, they both explode. The director wants to give him a hard time when he keeps quiet about the whereabouts of the diamonds.

Saw it again on DVD yesterday. I liked him a lot better already. Hauer and Rogers play very well and the future adventure just creates a lot of atmosphere. I really enjoyed it again. Even though it's a B-movie, it's well worth it. I just hated that Lucy Liu and the other bad guy.

Tasty action film about a diamond robber (an excellent Rutger Hauer) who, after a failed robbery, ends up in a prison in which the detainees are attached to another (unknown) prisoner by means of a collar. This adventure film doesn't do much wrong. It remains entertaining all the way through. The idea with the collars is not even that bad, although it is sometimes difficult to keep it believable (with those buses for example). Bombastic action, fantastic dialogues and brilliant direction should not be expected, but there is plenty to enjoy. Hauer started his decline as an actor here by starring in films that went direct-to-video faster and faster. Good enough for 3*
