The Texas State Armadillos are nowhere after the corruption scandal that ended their football season. Their coach Ed Gennaro (Hector Elizondo) has to draft a whole new team. As quarterback, he visits Paul Blake (Scott Bakula), who is now 34 and the father of a family. His game is good, but can he score with a team made up of a weird bunch of losers, freaks and loners?
