Nice.

The way in which the sport is handled and the accompanying comedic moments is very nicely done. The games are nicely portrayed and the plot is also very nice. Unfortunately, in the off-field drama, things go awry, especially between Reeves and Langton, and it's not very interesting to follow. Still, the film has some nice moments off the field, including the "I Will Survive" scene. And the puke scene is also one to remember. Stays entertaining.

Funny.

And with a beautiful moral in the finale, and based on a true story, too. It's a shame, though, that the narrative is a bit predictable, and the soundtrack is so lazy. Nevertheless, it might just be Reeves's best performance; he makes even more of an impression than Hackman, who has little screen time and does his usual thing.

It's a shame the cheerleaders weren't on screen more, because they're by far the best part of the whole film, although Langton's role is a bit too obvious—from the moment she appears, you know how it ends. Where do we know her from? Melrose Place, of all places.
